Buying a Kitchen or Bedroom is probably one of the major purchases most people will make in their lifetime. It is an investment in your home that will appreciate in value, in line with the value of your property.
To protect your interests and the interests of your home, we suggest you consider the following:
Direct salespeople who visit your home, quite often don’t have the backing of a showroom or a major manufacturer. Preferring to purchase their furniture from small, unregulated workshops, who use inferior raw materials, with little or no quality control systems. The products may be cheaper, but what happens when they go wrong. You can’t visit a showroom and if the salesperson moves to another company, what do you do? Who do you speak to?
Would you buy a car without examining the engine or vehicle interior, or checking its history?
Would you buy a house without seeing the inside of the property or checking the deeds for the property?
Would you buy a kitchen or bedroom off a sample door, from a complete stranger?
HIGHLY UNLIKELY!
When buying a Kitchen or Bedroom, you need to make sure you see and touch the product before you buy. See the product in situ, so you can see the fittings and test the quality of the cabinets and the doors. See if the company has any testimonial letters or photographs of kitchens they have installed. Ask to speak to some of the company’s recent customers. Go and see a recent installation.
Satisfy yourself, that the company you are investing your hard earned savings in can back up their claims.
Make sure you ask about Guarantees. Written Guarantees often mean more that a statement or a promise. Guarantees are only as good as the person or organisation offering them.
